Kitsch Cupcakes Release a New Treat!

With a new year comes a new treat! Kitsch Cupcakes has revealed that
they will be adding a new member to their family of delicious treats!

Unlike your traditional doughnuts that are deep fried, Kitsch Cupcakes is introducing a new line of bakes, Kitsch Doughnuts. The doughnuts are freshly ‘baked’ from scratch and on location.

Red Velvet

The delicious ring-shaped treats come in three yummy flavors. The ‘Red Velvet’ doughnut is baked with love and topped with cream cheese icing – this is Kitsch’s signature doughnut and a must try!

Cinnamon Sugar + Little Nutter

If you are more of a peanut butter fan, the ‘Little Nutter’ is a baked chocolate doughnut finished with peanut butter icing – simply mouthwatering!

The ‘Cinnamon Sugar’ doughnut is a baked vanilla doughnut dusted in cinnamon sugar – a classic!

Brilliant. What more could you want. Delicious + Healthy!

They are available at Kitsch Locations around Dubai and Abu Dhabi

Here's where you can find them

Holiday Sparkle...

This time of year just shouts out sparkle! Christmas lights, holiday ornaments and..somehow..jewels and glitter everywhere.
So here are a few ideas of how to add a little sparkle to your december!

add a little glitter to your manicure
(note: If you're doing a whole nail, I would opt for
the ring finger, rather than the middle finger)

celebrate with sparklers on your cake/dessert

put a smile on someone's face, make it extra
special and use glitter ribbon

get experimental or a little daring with your make up
and try a line of glitter eyeliner over your regular black liner.
just one skinny line, a little goes a long way...

Get the kids involved and create DIY, home-made
christmas ornaments, or seasonal decor with glitter and glue!

...or pair a sequins top with a neutral, plain maxi skirt, or your favorite
pair of pants for a holiday party/outing

How do you get your sparkle on?

'Tis The Season...

...for pumpkin pie. Yum! Theres nothing better in this season than savoring a slice of pumpkin pie and a scoop of vanilla ice cream...or two! Oh, and don't forget the whipped cream! I always fall back onto Libby's traditional and classic pumpkin pie recipe. It couldn't be easier to make at home, and results are perfect every time.

Ingredients:
• 3/4 cup granulated sugar
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
• 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
• 2 large eggs
• 1 can (15 oz.) LIBBY'S® 100% Pure Pumpkin
• 1 can (12 fl. oz.) NESTLÉ® CARNATION® Evaporated Milk
• 1 unbaked 9-inch (4-cup volume) deep-dish pie shell

Whipped cream (optional)

Method:
(preheat oven to 425˚F)
MIX:
Sugar, cinnamon, salt, ginger, and cloves in a small bowl. Beat eggs in a large bowl. Stir pumpkin and sugar-spice mixture. Gradually stir in evaporated milk

POUR:
Into pie shell.

BAKE:
In preheated 425°F. oven for 15 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350°F.; bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack for 2 hours. Serve immediately or refrigerate. Top with whipped cream before serving.

Last step... Enjoy!

Do you love pumpkin pie?
If not, what's your favorite seasonal desert?

Chocolate Covered Orangettes (Orange Peels)

Whether you're having guest over for dinner, or enjoying a meal at home,
these orangettes are a great, refreshing way to end a meal. If you're entertaining
your guests can leave with something great to remember your party with,
by packaging them into small favor bags.

The recipe from the images below has been adapted by Smitten Kitchen
from the well known l'Orange Bleu restaurant in NYC (link at the end)

Chocolate and orange have long been
regarded great pairing when it comes to sweets. This recipe allows everyone
to enjoy the rich and refreshing tastes in small bite size amounts.

You have to use dark chocolate to get this recipe right. All the flavors balance out perfectly

Craving: Churros

I've been craving churros a lot recently
The ones that Emily of cupcakes and cashmere tried are so tempting to make!
Hopefully I'll get to it soon!

NYC: Levain Bakery

Photo: levainbakery.com

This summer LVP visited Levain Bakery in New York City

Zagat Rated, and known as the best chocolate chip cookies, the visit to Levain Bakery was inevitable while in New York

A small bakery on Manhattan's Upper West Side is home to these delicious cookies

The cute place is about four steps down (literally down stairs) from the walk way on 167 West 74th St

Being allergic to nuts I only tried the Dark Chocolate Chocolate Chip, which was DELISH! I ate over the period of two days though because it was quite big, and I was on my way to a cut café a few blocks down for lunch (more on that place soon!)

Someone else with me tried the Original Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie, which apparently was also very good and the healthy and wholesome ingredients of these cookies should keep your guilt at bay.
