NYC: Gelatria Classica

While in New York I came across a cute Gelato place in Greenwich Village called Timi's Gelateria Classica (Italiano).

Flavor: Chocolate

Delish!

Originally from Venice, Gelateria Classica is now open all over the world, and has just opened its flagship store in NYC, in Geenwich Village on October 10th.
(LVP loves) : They produce their Gelato with hormone free milk, and fresh local ingredients.

The gelato flavors to choose from are perfect and the gelato itself is rich enough without being overpowering, and the perfect soft texture.

Not to mention their customer service is amazing!

We were there pretty late so that's why their upper level was closed

- Interesting fact: they sell wholesale if you're having an event (or even to restaurants) ! - If you're in NY, you should definitley pay them a visit and get a bite - or more - of their tasty and creamy gelato!

Check out their site, and I'll see you back here tomorrow for a fashion feature!

Sinless Desserts

You don't need to rid yourself of your weekly, or even daily sugar dosage in order to be healthy. That what LVP believes that a balanced diet and lifestyle should include. After all the earth produces sugar and cocoa for a reason; indulgence!

Here are a couple under 100 calorie desserts and sweet treats that you can easily make at home in no time and savor, yet not feel guilty about.

Indoor S'mores (via eatingwell.com)

(Ginger Citrus Posicle via SELF.com)
Popsicles

Just mix you favorite natural juices (e.g. orange, apple, lime, etc.) and freeze up for a couple hours. Don't forget to insert your popsicle stick in through half way or right from the beginning.
Add a fun touch by throwing in some slices/pieces of the fruit

Above Left: Grape Mint Popsicle (just a mix of lime juice, honey, grape pieces, and a bunch of mint (for fresher breath!)) - So simple, and if you don't have a kit at home just use a plastic cup as a mold.

Above Right: Wild Berry Popsicle: (A blend of yoghurt with berries, some honey for thickness and natural sweetness, and a touch of lime juice)

Strawberries and Chocolate

No one can say no to these! Just melt some bittersweet/semi-sweet chocolate on a couple of wash and cleaned strawberries and enjoy!

"cutting out sugar completely isn't necessary or even possible," says Suzanne Farrell, R.D., of Denver. What is: indulging wisely, by curbing cravings and eliminating hidden sources. On these pages, we make eating a lot less sugar a cakewalk.

Oh and one scoop of your favorite ice cream can often be a 100 calorie treat once a week!

Hope this was helpful!

Until next time...

Baked by Melissa

Another great thing I came across while in NYC last summer was 'Baked by Melissa'. Man was I happy I found that place. It was cute, simple, unique and served the cutest and most delicious mini cupcakes. Branding it self uniquely from the now over done and over hyped 'cupcake', Baked by Melissa has creatively stood strong on serving only mini cupcakes.

Their signature cupcake is the vanilla flavored cake with vanilla frosting, however with it's signature multicolored look (which is also represented on the logo).

The store just by Union Sq (14st)

Inside the store: the display of deliciousness

Can buy them in a set of three for on to the go!
This is the multicolored, vanilla flavored miniature cupcake

The greatest thing about them, apart from their cuteness, is the fact that many of them are filled and have toppings, it's like a trial bite of 3 or 5 delicious elements together. For example you can have a vanilla cake base with some fudge and then the crunchy graham cracker!

The way you mouth gradually moves from on layer to the next while chewing into it enables you to savor the multiple textures and flavors while it only being a mini cupcake, meaning you don't need to worry about your calorie intake nor about it filling you up!

Check it out anytime you are in NYC!
